Micro documentary about candy making sweet!

As I had mentioned in an earlier post, we shot a short film (micro doc) about confectioner Minas Zuniga of Coastal Confectionery and his love of making candies. It was a real joy to watch Minas, a quite, unassuming person, in his natural element. Minas is self-taught through books and experimentation and can create a range of custom treats.

Here is the finished film:

finishing notes

One of the neatest things that happened on the film (aside from enjoying the candy spoils from the shoot) was acquiring the music. I happened to stumble upon Reynold D. Philipsek, a musician, jazz guitarist, singer-songwriter and poet. Reynold was gracious enough to allow us to use his song “Grey Chalet” in the film and it fit perfectly. I highly recommend visiting Reynold on his website and on iTunes.

  1. Wonderful cinema photography, you feel as if you are standing in the candy shop experiencing the candy being made along with the aromas! Color is eye catching …. Loved it.
